And finally for the summer …

…. that’s it for now. 13,500 words later and I am awarding myself a nice glass of chilled Pinot. Have a great summer everyone and let’s come back ready to get this thing changed if we possibly can.

Well done Anne and thank you. A fantastic analysis based on deep knowledge and understanding that everyone who cares about children learning science should read and share. enjoy that Pinot – you deserve it.

Brilliant Anne. Let’s hope lots of people pick up the messages and take every opportunity to work together save all that is good in primary science. It’s been a wonderful journey watching primary science develop since the 1980’s. It has been special to have made that journey with lovely folks like you. We can’t let all the inspiration that has been poured into primary science, and all the developments that have engaged so many young children, be lost because of the lack of understanding and experience of government officials. Thank you for helping to keep the flame bright. And now enjoy a well deserved break.

  3. Thanks Brenda. What a lovely comment! Am blushing as I type.
Will try to think about all the ways we can have a go at influencing things whilst walking on the beach! Have a fine summer yourself. xx

Thanks Anne for providing just the analysis I need when working with schools in the NW. Since leaving my LA last year I have been working with very concerned teachers who in some cases are already being asked (or believe they are) to change the science curriculum in line with what is in the draft!! I am trying to be the voice of reason and welcome the opportunity to join such a collective response from people who have inspired me and those I have worked with over the years. Hope the summer has been everything you all deserve. Pauline Carter Bailey Education Consultant (ex LA Science Adviser)

    • Thanks Pauline. So pleased it was a help. I think we need to get as many people as possible to write to their MPs (and anyone else) expressing concerns. Will post a possible letter and a one page doc of main points to give people somewhere to start.
